A Fang sculpture. First half 20th c

This is a nicely carved sculpture that has good patina. It is Fang style. The Fang tribe mostly lives in Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Republic of the Congo and Cameroon. These type of sculptures were designed to complement reliquary containers that were believed to have powers.
From a Danish collection. Bought in Copenhagen during the 1970s.
