A Swedish porphyry vase with lid. Early 19th c

A porphyry vase made solely for decoration. Porphury is one of the hardest stones there are and this type was only mined in Sweden. The lid has a small gilt bronze ornament on the top. Some small chips on the edge of the lid.

Dimensions: Height 32.0 cm (12.6 inches) x Width 13.5 cm (5.3 inches)
