A very fine pair of French gilt bronze empire candlesticks, Paris ca.1805-10. The three figural heads on each candlestick is probably that of Homer.
Homer is the presumed author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, two epic poems that are the foundational works of ancient Greek literature.
