A pair of Rörstrand candlesticks from the 1920s, designed by Ilse Claesson as part of the factory’s Serie V. Made of earthenware and decorated by hand with a stylised geometric pattern characteristic of the period. The restrained form and bold decoration reflect the influence of Art Deco on Swedish design during the 1920s. The glaze shows fine crazing, typical of flintware of this age, with some associated discolouration. These signs of age are part of the character of the material and give the surface a beautiful patina
